Where Young Stars Shine.
Where Families Belong.
Why Families Choose The Gateway School for the Performing Arts
For generations, families across Long Island have trusted The Gateway to provide more than just theatre classes. We provide a place where children build confidence, discover creativity, make lifelong friendships, and learn from professionals who are passionate about helping them grow.
As the educational branch of Long Island’s oldest professional theatre entering its 77th season, The Gateway School for the Performing Arts offers students a unique opportunity to train where the professionals perform.
Whether your child dreams of center stage or is simply looking for a creative outlet, there’s a place for them here.
Broadway Close to Home
At The Gateway, students don’t just learn about theatre. They experience it firsthand.
Our students rehearse in the same spaces used by our professional MainStage productions and are guided by experienced teaching artists and industry professionals who emphasize creativity, collaboration, discipline, and joy. From first-time performers to seasoned young artists preparing for auditions and conservatory training, our programs are designed to meet students where they are and help them flourish.
