Inspired by 40 layers of wallpaper found in a real Lower East Side tenement, this show uncovers true stories of immigrant families from the late 1800s, including an Irish worker who built the Brooklyn Bridge, Italian brothers who braved a huge blizzard, and Russian Jewish teens who fought for workers’ rights. Layer the Walls is a creative way to explore our history and spark important and meaningful conversations. Best for kids ages 8 & up.
