Set at the Ernst Marine Conservation Center, located in the heart of an 88-acre wetland preserve at West Meadow Creek, Stony Brook, participants explore this unique breeding area for animals and plants including fiddler crabs, fish and marsh birds. We’ll discover the areas habitat exploring the water’s edge to collect the many varieties of plants and animals that make up the marsh ecosystem. At the lab, we’ll observe adaptations using touch tanks, microscopes and magnifying glasses. We’ll also seine for fish, do fun crafts and use field guides to identify animal tracks.
Fee: $275.00 for week.
