William Sidney Mount: A Long Island Artist (His Life and Work)
Louise Cella Caruso discusses the life of artist William Sidney Mount (1807-1868) at the Connetquot Public Library on Wednesday, June 20 from 2:30-4:00PM. Mount resided and painted in Stony Brook, affectionately depicting the activities of its rural country folk. This slideshow/lecture will spotlight his beautifully simple paintings that subtly comment on the powder keg of political issues of the 19th century. The library is located at 760 Ocean Avenue, Bohemia. For further information please contact the library at 631-567-5079 or visit our website at www.connetquotlibrary.org.
